Aims and Objectives

To process applications for work permit and issue the work permits within 30 working days.
To monitor the employment of expatriates in line with the provisions of the Non-Citizens (Employment Restriction) Act 1973 and in accordance with policies of Government.
To process applications and issue such licences to local private recruitment agencies.
To ensure that recruitment of workers for employment in Mauritius and abroad is carried out in line with the provisions of the Recruitment of Workers Act 1993.The Employment Division is responsible, among others, for
  • To process applications for work permit within 15 days.

  • To monitor the employment of expatriates in line with the provisions of the Non-Citizens (Employment Restriction) Act 1973 and in accordance with policies of the Government.

  • To process applications and issue such licences to local private recruitment agencies.

  • To ensure that recruitment of workers for employment in Mauritius and abroad is carried out in line with the provisions of the Recruitment of Workers Act 1993.
